Plans for the shoot -
My plan for the shoot was to photograph food dye dripping into water and observe and capture the diffusion of the food colour in the water. I plan to shoot these images with either a white or black background. However, I think that the white background would be more effective in order to see all of the colour trails and the way that they diffuse.

What I hoped to achieve -
I hoped to achieve a series of images which successfully captured the passing of time. I also hope to experiment with continuous shooting in order to try to capture the fluency of the movement of the food dye in order to fully show the movement throughout the time period. I also hoped that my images would be bold and striking due to the vibrancy of colours in the images which would be presented and clearly noticeable because of the white background.

What I actually achieved -
In my shoot, I achieved a successful series of images which clearly showed the topic of the passing of time. I like the outcomes and feel that they look very interesting. I achieved a eye-catching series due to the use of the continuous shot as this helped to clearly show the movement of the food dye which happened during a set period of time. Overall, I feel that my shoot was successful and had a clear link to the topic of the passing of time. Below shows two images which I captured during my shoot.

This was my favourite image from the shoot. I like the multiple colours and also this looks especially effective on the white background. I edited this image by adapting the curves to make the image brighter and also increased the brightness and contrast. I felt that this edit looked especially effective as it helped to draw the eye to the colours more and also helped to make the background whiter and brighter.
This image was my least favourite from the shoot. Although the image is not unsuccessful, I do not think that it is as effective as the other images which I captured during the shoot. I feel the image is not so successful as it is not framed so successfully and also, the food colour trails are not in focus very well and look slightly too blurred. I thought that shooting just the top of the glass would make for an interesting image but I do not feel that this was the case and instead feel that the full glass shots worked much better.
What I plan to do next (progression) -
In my next shoot, I plan to experiment with light trails and explore this via looking at car headlights in the dark. I could do this by standing on a motorway bridge and shooting the motorway traffic below using long exposure. I feel this would allow me to achieve some original and very effective and eye-catching images. In addition to this, I could explore movements using a torch with the use of long exposure. I think that this would look very effective and would also follow on from this shoot very well due to the use of colour and trails of movement.
